welcome

I am passionate about innovation, collaboration, and the many ways technology can be used as a vehicle for improving lives and enriching relationships. It's this passion that drives my primary business belief: people should drive technology, not the other way around.

By focusing on people and social relationships first, we can leverage technology as a catalyst for improving, not complicating, one's quality of life. It is from this perspective, that of the user of the technology rather than the technology itself, that technology can be used to shape the world.

Currently, through my employment on the User Experience team in IT at Union Pacific, I live out these passions on a daily basis. Managing a team that develops software for our employees, with a primary goal of improving those users' quality of life by providing them with the tools they need to do their job.

Short term, my goal is to continue to create highly usable and consistent web applications, deliver quality results as promised, and be placed in roles of broader leadership. In essence, to create a small wave in the pond that is Union Pacific's IT Department.

Long term, my goal is to move into upper management and foster innovation, collaboration, and the creation of people-centric products that focus on users over technology. To use my skillsets, creativities, and vision to grow that wave into tangible change that has a visible influence on the culture of a 150 year-old transportation company.
